Busselton Margaret River Airport was a buzz this afternoon with Jetstar’s inaugural flight service between Sydney and Busselton taking off today.
The new direct flights between Busselton and Sydney, coupled with Jetstar’s Busselton – Melbourne service is a major drawcard and boost for tourism in the South West region. Both services will open the doors for interstate and international business and leisure travel, as well as bolstering the City’s identity as the ‘Events Capital of WA’, with further opportunities and connectivity between Busselton and the east coast.
City of Busselton Mayor Phill Cronin said, “It was wonderful to experience firsthand the level of excitement and activity at the airport today. Whilst greeting passengers who arrived on the flight today, it was fantastic to hear their positive comments and experience on the new direct commercial flight service.”

I thank Jetstar for their commitment to the region and for their commitment to bring the Sydney flight service to Busselton. To celebrate the new service, Jetstar is having a 12-hour sale today, with one-way fares. The City has also launched a competition for City of Busselton residents and ratepayers 18 years and over.
